It is no longer news that Nigerian Idol is back. But in case you didn’t already hear, MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the 6th edition of the much-loved music reality show after a five-year hiatus.

If you have ever imagined yourself on stage with adoring fans screaming your name, then here is your chance.

Just like BBNaija season 5, auditions for the 2020 Nigerian Idol will be done online.

The eventual winner of the competition will be rewarded with a recording contract and 50 million Naira worth of prizes, which will include a cash prize and a brand-new car, making it the highest reward for any singing competition TV series in Nigeria.

Below is a break-down of the audition process to help you have smooth sailing!

First things first, you have to be between the ages of 16 and 30 to take part in the competition.

Upload your 30 seconds audition video. Remember, no instruments or backtracks are allowed.

The online auditions for the new season began on Sunday, November 29, 2020, and will end on Sunday, December 13, 2020.

Since its inception, Nigerian Idol has been a platform for talent discovery and expression and produced some of the biggest Nigerian singers such as Timi Dakolo, Mercy Chinwo, and Omawumi.
