Kennis music was responsible for making the group formerly known as VIP a household name in Nigeria. VVIP member, Reggie Rockstone explains the move: “It made sense to go back with the ole gee via loyalty and the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” mind set! Alhaji is doing great in Ghana and Nigeria. So it is a good time to consider doing more in Nigeria.”
“Naija is somewhat baffled in a good way about my inclusion to the group and some even wonder if it is the same guy they grew up listening to on colabos with 2face, Beenieman, and Wyclef back in the day. God has bin good to us with the winning of the two very prestigious awards recently making all come together on time too,” he added.
VVIP recently won the awards for Best African Group and Best Music Video at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA 2016). This has brought a lot of attention to the group from the new generation and those who already know ‘VIP’.
Ironically, VVIP has launched their next project dubbed #VVIPAWARDS featuring Stonebwoy! A simple video showing the After party for the VVIP awards event, directed by Pascal AKA is now out with several surprise cameo appearances.
