The 2018 edition of The Worthy Men Project has kicked off with the celebration of 4 (four) men in January.

A House of The African Initiative, the project seeks to celebrate men of all social class, who are amazingly impacting humanity, society and also doing tremendously well in their respective career areas.

The Worthy Men Project, which commenced in June 2017 by celebrating 20 (twenty) men, is a Ghanaian monthly activity contributing to the annual International Men’s Day celebrations held on November 19 every year.

According to the Project Coordinator, Nsroma Larbie, “Celebrating women in this generation has been a norm and always been beautiful. Yes!!! Because we are naturally Ama-Zing. And celebrating men only happens when usually it’s a man’s birthday or has received an achievement in his career life or death. Just then we get to read touching appreciations, penned for him.

“Come to think of it, how about collectively celebrating men and as well paying attention to affirming them and equally making them feel Ama-Zing? We so agree that men has it all and are strong willed naturally to take of their needs, then again they are humans and as well needs support, affirmations (not only in relationships when we want to be romantic).”

She further noted, “truth is that men are the unseeingly fragile and soft hearted and as emotional as they can be even though this is not shown as in the case of women. Unlike men who are able to walk silently in pain and allowing themselves bruised, mentally drained and the inward self-battles, in avoidance of being labeled as weak and/or man-in-woman’s body. The fact remains that men are and will always remain strong willed, and we still cannot ignore the need to celebrate them while they are alive.”

Adding his voice is HoTA President, Mr. KJD; “It is very unbelievable that an entire Gender Ministry focuses much solely on women being equaled to men and treated right. There are equal heartbreaking stories of men, who are going through similar scenarios as popularized women cases at the Domestic Violence and Social Welfare Departments yet not a single campaign to address damming issues concerning men let alone create an advocacy to just appreciate the few great and equally Amazing men in our part of the world.”

The Worthy Men Project officially launched last year on November 18 at the Hotel, Grand Casamora at East Legion. It was supported by Grand Casamora, Recess Modeling Agency and EoD Partners. Read more about the project on www.theworthymen.com
