MUSIGA drops Voters’ Register ahead on National Executives Election

The final voters register for the election of national executives of the Musicians Union of Ghana has been released by the National Elections Committee of the Union to pave the way for the elections on July 10, 2019.

According to the chairman of the committee, Smart Nkansah, “The final register has a picture of the each duly registered voter along with their membership number. The register will be available at all regional offices for members to check for their names which have been arranged alphabetically.”

The former leader of the Sweet Talks band among other groups indicated that, “All arrangements have also been concluded with the Electoral Commission and we are set for a free and fair election on Wednesday, July 10.”

The MUSIGA elections was postponed from Wednesday, June 26 by the elections committee to address issues raised after displaying the initial voters register. In all eleven aspirants are contesting for the elections with the positions of National Organizer, National Welfare Officer and National Treasurer going unopposed.

For the offices of President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President and General Secretary, two persons are vying for each position.
