It’s now officially confirmed, Super Bowl 51 Half time show will be headlined by Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga confirmed late Thursday that she will indeed headline the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 5. The big game will air on Fox.
“It’s not an illusion,” the Grammy-winning singer-actress tweeted, a nod to her new single “Perfect Illusion. “The rumors are true. This year the Super Bowl goes Gaga.”
Gaga’s fourth studio album, Joanne, drops Oct. 21. It’s named after her late aunt who died from lupus at age 19.
Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem at last year’s Super Bowl.
Over the summer, Adele revealed that she was offered the plum gig, but turned it down. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music,” the singer told her audience at a Los Angeles concert in August. “And I don’t really — I don’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.”
