Ghanaian journalist, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, has revealed that her second attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing marathon (individual) has been disqualified.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, May 8, 2025, Afua openly acknowledged the outcome of her recent attempt, stating that it was both “unsuccessful and disqualified.” She also shared portions of the mail she received from the Guinness World Records team, detailing the reasons her second journey could not be validated.
Despite the setback, Afua expressed deep gratitude for the experience, noting that embarking on the singing marathon challenge on three different occasions has contributed immensely to her personal and professional development.
“This journey has brought about discovery, growth, and development that have significantly shaped my being,” she shared in the statement.
