Musician Skales, in his interview with Soundcity’s Moet Abebe, discussed his planned collabo with Nicki Minaj.
Skales said he can’t believe he’s getting messages from the American pop star.
In case you missed how the two artistes hooked up: In May, Skales dropped a song featuring American rapper Diplo, and as usual, he shared the links of the music video on his pages. Shortly after, Nicki Minaj promoted the song on her Instagram, introducing the Nigerian singer to her 80 million fans.
An excited Skales thanked Nicki Minaj for the kind gesture, and now, he claims they have become close friends, such that they now exchange private messages.
“It’s still crazy to me how I keep getting DMs from her,” he said in a recent interview with Moet Abebe, adding, “it’s crazy that super stars like them reach out to people like me.”
However, he still acknowledges Diplo, saying that he was able to earn this level in his career after working with Diplo and for connecting the two of them, and for giving him the beat that made Nicki take notice.
