Executive Board Of Presidential Grand Ball Calls on First Lady

Members of the MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball Executive Board have paid a courtesy call on the First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo to thank her for her continued support for the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) and also discuss the upcoming Presidential Grand Ball slated for March 29 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

This year’s Presidential Grand Ball coincides with President Akufo-Addo’s birthday which falls on March 29. The discussions therefore covered raising funds with the Ball to support AMWeF and also to mark the President’s birthday. The First Lady supported the Presidential Grand Ball with a donation and has been a passionate supporter for AMWeF.
The First Lady expressed her appreciation to the AMWeF board for the visit and indicated her commitment to supporting the fund to cater for the welfare of our veteran musicians.

On his part, the MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour expressed the Union and AMWeF’s gratitude for the support of the First Lady.
The delegation which included the 2nd vice chairman of the Executive Board of the Presidential Grand Ball, William Adjovu, CEO of Liberty Group, Liberty Capital, Logistics and Midland Savings and Loans; Board Member Nana Yaw Barima Kissi, CEO of High Brains Ltd and a philanthropist; veteran singer A.B Crentsil; ace broadcaster Kwame Sefa Kayi and Shadrach Osei of the Musicians Union of Ghana. Present at the meeting was Juliana Gblorfia head of the Presidential household.

This year’s Presidential Grand Ball is under the theme “The Role of Music in the Implementation of NACAP.” MUSIGA is this year embarking on a series of anti-corruption activities as part of a campaign to raise awareness about the effects of corruption and how to prevent it in the country with support from STAR-Ghana.
