The past eleven episodes of Africa Magic’s Shoot Your Shot have brought us more adorable moments than we can count, and this episode didn’t disappoint either.
On episode 12, we were introduced to Wisdom Nathan, a 28-year-old Architect who moved from Abuja to Lagos in search of true love. He met his crush MaryJane at a friend’s birthday party and has had a crush on her for a year and six months. According to Nathan, He fell for her at first sight, and he feels like he has known her since forever.
MaryJane Onuoha is a 29-year-old businesswoman with two kids. She hasn’t had the best of luck with relationships as she was married for five years before her marriage came crashing down. Her ex-husband was abusive, and she tried to cope for a bit before realising that she couldn’t be in the marriage anymore. Ever since she has focused all her attention on her children. MaryJane is looking for a hardworking, God-fearing, and a good looking man who will love her kids like his. So when the Shoot Your Shot team reached out to her, she was curious and hopeful that this is the one.
When it was time for the unveiling, the host, Bisola Aiyeola took MaryJane to meet Nathan at the intimate date he had set up for her. She was shocked to see that her crush was her friend, Nathan. She wasted no time and went ahead to tell Nathan the basics – she wasn’t ready to have any more children. She also asked him if he was prepared to take care of her responsibilities. Nathan, who was avoiding the questions, didn’t know how to react.
Nathan told her he wants to have his children, but he wants them to work out. She explained that she sees him as a brother and a friend, and even her children see him the same way so she can’t rush them to accept him as her lover. She then went ahead to say no to his relationship proposal.
Nathan was shocked, sad and shattered to see his hopes and love come crashing down but as the saying goes, life happens.
