Jamaican silky voice singer, Ikaya, in a latest interview with King Lagazee Of Hitz 103.9fm in Ghana made some revealing comments about the Legendary Reggae/Dancehall Veteran, Capleton.
Speaking about how she nurtured her craft, Ikaya, highlighted how her parents, (her Mother especially), discovered her voice and gave her the chance to hone her craft.
“Capleton is good friends with my Father so I’ve been close to him. So Capleton is like a second Dad to me. He was the first person to bring me into studio and put me on a major platform,” Ikaya revealed.
Ikaya is listed to perform in Ghana on 2 concerts — March 9 and March 10 — at JaGhafest. JaGhafest would stage is maiden edition in Ghana in March 2019. JaGhafest is a coined term from “Jamaica Ghana Festival” where both countries would showcase their arts and culture, especially in music; this festival is expected to happen annually.
Ikaya was born Kadian Blair on February 5, 1986 and is of Jamaican descent. She is popularly known for songs such as “Fly Away”, “Broken Wings”, “Relationship”, “Ugly Girl”, just to name a few.
King Lagazee interviewed her on Sunday, February 17, 2019 on “Yaad Settingz”, a weekly award winning radio magazine that highlights Reggae and Dancehall both lovely and internationally.
She will be performing along with Freddie McGregor, Duane Stephenson, Etana, Natel, Charly Black, TK, Mr. Vegas, ZJ Sparks, Coppershot and a host of others at JaGhafest.
JaGhafest is organized by Edge Of The World Production (EOTWP).
