In a male dominated creative industry like Ghana, success doesn’t come on a silver platter for women/ladies all though some are naturally blessed with luck to excel in every endeavor. The few women who are enjoying the fruits of their sweats went against all odds, broke  the rules and worked extremely hard to reach the height their seen now.

Other women/ladies who find themselves in the circle of creative arts are motivated to do all sort of unethical and unacceptable behaviours; going semi-nude, etc all in the name of branding and quick fame but the future of Ghanaian female reggae/dancehall act Renner GHG begs to differ. She posted a picture of herself on her mini-blog (instagram) with the caption “some ah them ah show them body and ah whine them waist but we have the steeeze”.

Could this be an diligent and intelligent way of making known to the other female acts especially (Ebony Reigns) they lack the qualities of rating theirselves as dancehall queens, while she has a lot moxie about the genre or it’s beyond that? Moving forward Renner is known for her hard hitting vocals, lyrics, energy and stage performance especially when she’s performing on a live band, she kills it like a sniper. She achieved wider, mainstream success when she did the rendition of Shatta Wale’s ear candy “ayoo” on a video posted on youtube.
