Most of the people who didn’t know of rapper Iceberg Slim before making his relationship with actress Juliet Ibrahim public on his birthday, have been wanting to know more about him. So I put together this piece to re-introduce him and let people know he didn’t just pop up from nowhere!

Iceberg Slim, born Olusegun Olowokere in New York City to Nigerian parents, is a rapper, singer and recording artiste.

British Ghanaian singer, Mark Asari featured on ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ soundtrack

Introduced to the sounds of Sunny Ade and Shina Peters from a very young age, Iceberg Slim found a strong liking for Nigerian music.

He started writing his own music by the time he had reached High School. It started out as poetry, and served as an outlet, but then transformed into Rap/Hip-Hop. Influences like Jay-Z, Drag-On, DMX and Eminem helped shape his sound and style.

With such a love for music, there’s no question on why he decided to leave John Jay College of Criminal Justice after 2 years completed, to attend IAR (Institute of Audio Research) to then pursue a career as an audio engineer/producer.
