Say what you want about Kim Kardashian-West, but homegirl has a big heart and touches many lives.
If you had any doubt, read this heartfelt appreciation letter the reality star received from an imprisoned woman who she’s fighting for her release.
Dear Ms. Kardashian I am so humbled by what you are doing and have already done on my behalf, When I spoke with attorney Shawn Holley and she disclosed the name of my benefactor, I had to take time to process and digest the news that you were the one that she had been alluding to. There are no words to strong enough to express my deep and heartfelt gratitude.
Ms. Kardashian you are literally helping to save my life and restore me to my family. I was drowning and you have thrown me a life jacket and given me hope that this Life Jacket I’m serving may one day be taken off.
There are defining moments in history that have shaped the destiny of this nation. I believe that we are part of a defining moment. When Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on that bus (the same year that I was born – 1955)… that was a defining moment. ‘She was an ordinary woman whose courage ignited and united the heart of America to stand together against a very present evil that could no longer be tolerated. This is so much bigger than either one of us.I believe that history will record that Kim Kardashian had the courage to take a stand against human warehousing and was a key figure in meaningful criminal justice reform becoming a reality.
A million trillion thanks!! May God’s blessing rest upon you and yours. THE BATTLE IS ON!’
The keeping up with the Kardashian star enlisted her lawyer Shawn Holley to represent Alice Marie Johnson, 62, who is currently serving a life imprisonment sentence for getting involved in a drug ring.
According to TMZ, that would be her first crime and she has already served 21 years. The mother of five who relayed messages to drug dealers claims she never sold narcotics during her involvement with them.
Kim is also trying to free Cynthoia Brown, a former child sex slave who killed her abuser when she was 16.
The system has failed. It’s heart breaking to see a young girl sex trafficked then when she has the courage to fight back is jailed for life! We have to do better & do what’s right. I’ve called my attorneys yesterday to see what can be done to fix this. #FreeCyntoiaBrown pic.twitter.com/73y26mLp7u
