Yolanda Okereke is a leading Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, creative producer, and acclaimed costume designer whose work has significantly shaped the visual landscape of contemporary Nollywood. Over the course of her distinguished career spanning more than a decade, she has brought her distinctive aesthetic vision to some of Nigeria’s most celebrated film and television productions.
As founder of The Rani Company, a premier costume design and styling firm, she has established herself as an essential creative voice in the industry. Her portfolio extends beyond costume design to include co-producing the fashion reality series Style Magnate on Showmax and serving as a creative producer on multiple film and television projects.
Her design work on productions including House of Ga’a, Seven Doors, and Everybody Loves Jenifa has been instrumental in defining their visual identities and contributing to their critical and commercial success.
Her contributions to the industry have earned significant recognition: In 2022, she achieved a milestone as the first African costume designer to host a masterclass at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, marking a significant moment for African creative excellence on the international stage. Also, she received an award for her costume design on Asoebi Diaries at the 2025 Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF) and was honoured at FAME Week Africa for Best Fashion Collaboration Film. Her work has also garnered nominations from the Africa Movie Academy Awards and the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
