Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer. The superstar musician will be joined by the Koko master, D’banj and creative industry entrepreneur, Obi Asika as a judge on Nigerian Idol season 7.
The talented singer has always had a thing for music right from her early days. Her sound and style are unique because she thoughtfully writes down her lyrics to appeal to the mind of her fans. Today, she remains one of the notable voices in the Nigerian music industry.
Being her first time on a music reality show, viewers can expect nothing but fun, honest and exciting remarks from Simi. Speaking on her excitement for the show, she said: “I was very excited when I heard that I was going to be a judge because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do”.
According to her, “Nigerian Idol is an opportunity for people to showcase themselves without having to pay money for anything because the platform has done that for them. For me, it’s like a double promotion, she adds”.
Also, speaking on her strategy for the show, she said: “I’ve never applied my personality to a setting like this before, so I’m looking forward to being part of the experience. In the end, I hope that I can also be an inspiration to some of the contestants.”
Finally, as a judge on the show, “you either love me or hate me because what you see is what you get. I will try to be as kind as possible because many people wear their hearts on their sleeves, and I don’t want to feel like I hurt anyone with her judgement”.
