If you loved the first chapter of a show or movie, chances are you’ll certainly love the follow-up feature. Catch all your favourites with a bang, added action, and even more excitement than ever before, only on DStv and GOtv.

For the latest movie releases, series, and sequels, you can always count on DStv and GOtv.

Here is a look at some of the sequels hitting our screens this month.

Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector

Based on the best-selling novel by Jeffery Deaver, this gripping series centres on former NYPD detective and forensic genius, Lincoln Rhyme, in his quest to settle a score with a serial killer.

During his reign of terror, the Bone Collector trapped and paralysed Lincoln Rhyme, but this time, Rhyme’s paired up with the brilliant and street-savvy Amelia Sachs.

Now the killer’s returned and there’s no telling what tricky situations he has in store. Follow this thrilling game of cat and mouse with a deadly twist every Wednesday on M-Net, DStv Channel 101 at 8:00 PM WAT.

Frozen 2

Everybody’s favourite Snow Queen is back in this follow-up to the best-selling movie, Frozen.

The sequel takes place three years after the original and sees Elsa happily settled amongst her friends in Arendelle. Before long, adventure beckons once again, in the form of a strange voice calling to Elsa from the enchanted forest.

Will her powers be enough to rise above the challenge and save everything she loves?

Frozen will be melting hearts on 12 August at 3:05 PM WAT on M-Net Movies Premiere, DStv Channel 108.

Season two of Halita continues the saga of a small-town girl thrust into the mysterious world of her wealthy employers. This season features enough intrigue and backstabbing to keep you gasping in amazement.

Catch up with the comings and goings weeknights on Africa Magic Family, on DStv Channel 154 and GOtv Channel 2 at 7:20 PM WAT.

Alternatively, DStv subscribers can binge watch both seasons on Showmax.

Big Brother Nigeria Season 5

The Big Nigeria Brother contestants may already be in the house, but it’s not too late to catch up with their shenanigans. This season features a varied cast of entrepreneurs, fashionistas, and jocks to fuel the inevitable on-screen personality clashes and cut-throat competitiveness of this big reality show.

Get a look at the 24/7 action on DStv Channel 198 or GOtv Channel 29 (for GOtv Max and Jolli packages).

In the hilarious comedy series, Insecure, we follow two friends, Issa Dee and Molly, who’re definitely not ‘killing it’ when it comes to coping with life’s curve balls.

This infinitely relatable series highlights how the characters’ flaws and failings lead to a range of humorous misadventures.

DStv subscribers can watch all four seasons of this laugh-a-minute comedy on Showmax.

The Next Karate Kid & The Karate Kid

Take a trip down memory lane with the 1994 and 2010 versions of this classic movie with TNT African, on both DStv and GOtv.

In The Next Karate Kid (1994), Mr Miyagi helps a new protégé overcome her grief over losing her parents by discovering the inner power and peace that come with martial arts training.

It’s all going down on Friday, 14 August on DStv Channel 137 and GOtv Channel 16 at 08:35am WAT.

Then, Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan team up for the 2010 remake of the original Karate Kid. Dre and his mom move to China, where he’s targeted by school bullies. Help is at hand in the form of Mr Han, a maintenance man who also happens to be a Kung Fu master.
