Wizkid and his manager, Sunday Aare, could be going to jail for a long time for cancelling his scheduled show early December despite the singer revealing he did so for medical reasons.
According to documents obtained by Ynaija, a Magistrate Court in Uganda has ordered the country’s police and the INTERPOL to nab the singer and his manager on or before January 16, 2017 for bailing on fans who had paid for his concert.
The organisers of the failed show -Face Tv Ltd – have rejected the singer’s explanation and claim it paid the singer’s manager $60,000, plus $5,000 and $3,000 which they had plunged as brokerage fee and for his hotel bills.
The plaintiff added that the total expenses was $300,000 which it hoped to get back from the over 25,000 fans who paid for the tickets. Hence, why it filed a lawsuit against Wizkid and his manager.
From the court documents obtained, the duo were charged on three counts of “obtaining money under false pretence contrary to section 305 of the penal code act, cheating contrary to section 307 of the penal code act, and conspiracy to defraud contrary to section 309 of the penal code act”.
