It’s all joy for Adeboye and Ajibola Taiwo who just welcomed sextuplets at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center after 17 years of waiting
A 40-man medical team including experts from maternal–fetal medicine, labor and delivery, nursing, anesthesia, respiratory neonatal medicine, social work, nutrition, cardiology and chaplain services helped deliver the babies who are currently in the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU neonatal intensive care unit.
According to the couple, they were overcome with joy when at their first ultrasound in November 2016, they saw four heartbeats. Surprisingly when they arrived VCU Medical Centre two months later, they discovered they were expecting not 4 but 6 babies!
The Nigerian couple welcomed the babies on the morning of May 11, 2017 and are still very much overwhelmed with joy.
Ajibola said that she wants her kids to come back to VCU in the future to study and learn how to take care of others with the same people who cared for her and her family.
