It was a live band affair at the poolside section of the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra. Ebony treated her audience to some of her hit songs – ‘Poison’, ‘Kupe’, ‘Sponsor’, and ‘Date Ur Fada’, coupled with some sensual dance moves as expected. The corporate launch saw friends, family and top industry personalities who came to show their support for the sensational singer.
”Paving the way and making sure I clear the way before she (Ebony) touches the mic”, Trigmatic who doubled as an MC gave a short performance. The likes of Efya, Kaakie, Kurl Songx and her label mate, Brella among others also thrilled the audience.
During a speech from the CEO of Ruff Town Records/Midas Touch Inc, Bullet, 1/2 of Ruff and Smooth, revealed how OgeeTheMC discovered the 90’s bad gyal, Ebony. ”It started way back 2015, Ogee told me bro, I have a girl, she’s very talented and I want you to hear her out. Ebony called me and said Ogee told me to call you, she sent me a song, I loved her voice and told her you’re a star”, expressed Bullet. ”After, we recorded our first single ‘Dancefloor’, she took it from there and gave Ghana back to back hits. Ebony is a very talented musician and Ghana should watch out for more”, he added.
There were other couple of heartfelt speeches from sponsors and friends who were obviously proud to be associated with the dancehall artist. Close pal of Ebony, Abeiku Santana, disclosed that the 20-year-old singer would take Africa by storm while her manager Bullet said, ”She has been a blessing to me” and ”I love her very much”.
Recorded in Accra over the past 12 months, Ebony described the launch of the record like it was her birthday. She mentioned her favourite of the bunch to be ‘Real’ which was written by her. Ebony is also set to headline her ”Bonyfied” concert hosted by OgeeTheMC on December 9 at the forecourt of the West Hills Mall on the Weija-Kasoa road.
