The 2018 African Magic Viewers Choice Awards has come and gone but we’re still buzzing from all the exquisite looks we saw on the red carpet.. The awards ceremony presented our stars opportunity to play dress up, and boy did they go all out.

All the beautiful pieces that came gliding down the red carpet served as a good reminder of just how far our fashion designers have come, and that they can comfortably rub shoulders with their peers on the global stage.

The celebrities who wore the outfits did justice to them, some more than the others. And below, we’ve put together a list of these celebrities who not only wore the beautiful pieces, but got their styling absolutely right and stood out on the red carpet.

Cee-C

Beautiful body, beautiful dress! Big Brother Naija star, Cee-C was a total knockout in Lanre DaSilva Ajayi. Everything from her hair to the fierce red lip colour was on point. The

Toni Tones

Toni Tones doesn’t play! Just like last year, the actress enlisted the help of designer Yemi Shoyemi for another red carpet-shutting-down ball gown. This year they went for the colour red and opted for a thigh-high slit for a sexy effect.

Rita Dominic

I don’t think there’s anyone in the world who had any doubt that Rita Dominic would make the best dressed list (again) this year. The actress has served us continuos slayage on the AMVCA red carpet through the years and this year wasn’t any different. She showed up in a custom blue dress by Tubo which featured an elaborate off-shoulder detail. Just stunning!

Adebukola Oladipupo

This is what I imagine Cinderella would look like if she came back to life. The MTV Shuga star looked exquisite in a gorgeous purple dress by Samuel Noon. The fabric, the cut and the style of this dress is everything. I especially love how she kept her accessories and makeup as bare as possible to just let the dress shine. Gorgeous!

Anto Lecky

Anto was a picture of elegance. She wore a beaded nude Bibi Lawrence dress paired with gold heels, a gold clutch and drop earrings. The gorgeous look was put together by Noble Igwe who has been styling her lately.

Olo Osakioduwa

Her husband might be the star of the show, but Olo was the one we were looking at when they appeared on the red carpet. The exquisitely structured Gozel Green dress, the red haircut, everything all came together nicely, proving once again that different is good. She was styled by Ezinne Chinkata.

Lilian Afegbai

Lesson 101 on how to show skin on the red carpet and still look classy while at it. Lilian was quite the sight in this dress by Nonnistics Fashion. Love, love, love it!

Osas Ajibade

Osas looked like a burst of sunshine in a yellow dress by Toju Foyeh. Silver shoes, a blue purse and perfectly done updo completed the stunning look.

Ini Dima Okojie

Never one to disappoint, Ini looked classic in a gold and black dress by her go-to designer, Fablane By Derin.

Nkem Marchie

It’s often said that you can never go wrong with black. And while the saying might not always hold true, this is one of those times when it did. Nkem Marchie was a vision in this black number by Thamani By Yaya.

Jennifer Alegieuno

Mai Atafo outdid himself on this one. The tailoring, the cut, and the fit of the half blazer, half corset dress was to die for. And so was the styling – White pumps and a statement purse. She was styled by Damilola Oke of Fierce N Modish.

Meg Otanwa

The fabric flow, the train, the fit – this Uju Estelo dress was perfection in every way.

Stephanie Coker

Stephanie in this magical piece by Style Temple might not have been everybody’s cup of tea but it was most definitely mine. I couldn’t fault it even if I tried. The designer combined one of the season’s hottest trend – sequin with lace in the most beautiful way. I also loved the sleek ponytail and the sultry glam.

Toyin Abraham

Toyin Abraham is always a pleasant surprise on the red carpet. The actress looked amazing in a black 22017 By TBally number which featured a high-low full skirt over a straight cut lace dress. Her hair and bright red lip colour gave the look an Old Hollywood glamour feel that I was absolutely feeling.

Ojy Okpe

With a body and build like she has, supermodel Ojy Okpe can hardly go wrong in anything. And she most certainly didn’t in this custom Mai Atafo jumpsuit.

Omawumi

A perfectly tailored pantsuit is always a YES. And even if it weren’t, Omawumi looked too good in this gold one by Tai.Lore to be anywhere other than the best dressed list.

Shaffy Bello

She who reigns supreme, Shaffy Bello showed us again why we always look forward to seeing her on the red carpet when she showed up in a Fouad Sarkis Couture. She’s the only one on our list who didn’t wear a Nigerian designer but we can’t be mad since she looked this good.

Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi

Less is ALWAYS more. If you needed one more reminder, Gbemi’s simple and yet outstanding look in this Tubo dress is just the perfect one.

Abiri “Khloe” Oluwabusayomi

Khloe looked like a black Disney princess in this ball gown by Tiannah’s Styling.

Yvonne Nwosu

Yvonne knows how to steal a show. The fierce designer was quite the sight in an elaborate dress designed by her. And because I’m a sucker for details, one of my favourite things about this look was the earrings. Beautiful!

Ezinne Chinkata

If you thought Ankara doesn’t belong on the red carpet of an awards show like this one, well think again. Ezinne looked ah-mazing in this custom Ankara dress by Gozel Green. Her shoes and purse were the perfect accessories for the dress. This entire look is proof that you win when you find your lane and stay on it.

Bolanle Olukanni

The ever-gorgeous Bolanle Olukanni was a dream in this gorgeous blue dress by Lady Bellionaire Luxury.
