Following a week-long literacy and storytelling and writing workshop implemented in partnership with Butterfly Dreamz Inc., student beneficiaries of the Girls Education Initiative of Ghana, GEIG have authored and published their first book of short stories. The book Good Friends and Big Dreams.

GEIG beneficiary Susanna Dapaah reflected on the workshop saying “I learnt a lot from this session. I learnt how to write my own story using pictures. I also learnt that in story writing there are three things to consider: the setup, action and the end. We all know learning is a continuous practice and so I gained a lot from this session.”

Beginning Sunday May 14- May 21, we are having a discounted sale of the book. Good Friends & Big Dreams is a cross cultural exchange on issues teenagers in Ghana and the United States face. Find out how Justice, an American High School senior finds relevant advice about transitioning from high school to college and in life.

For 2 weeks, only when you donate $25 or more you’ll receive a copy of the book and provide a GEIG student with a semester’s school fees.
For those of us in Ghana please note we’re selling the books for 25 GHC. Orders will be taken now and books will be delivered in June. Contact 0265640910 or 0502185849 to place your early bird order.
