Ever since he decided to aim higher, go all out, draw long term goals married with pre-programmed mindset, unimaginable burning desire to pursue his dreams and acquainting himself with his God given talent, things are absolutely falling in place like a ripe mango at a fast pace. Crowd pleaser, Stonebwoy’s “Epistles of Mama” album has inked and registered it’s monumental existence as the 2nd best album in the world. The ranking was made by ReggaeVille via their official website www.reggaeville.com through it’s 6th annual poll, allowing 3.300 registed users to cast their votes for their favorite 5 album released in 2017. These was the order it followed,
1. Chronixx – Chronology
2. Stonebwoy – Epistles Of Mama
3. Damian Jr Gong Marley – Stony Hill
4. Cidade Verde Sounds – Umdo12
5. Hempress Stiva – Unconquerebel.
ReggaeVille has a large online presence and a credible infotainment world wide. The list speaks volume, isn’t it? Epistles Of Mama ahead of Stony Hill, isn’t that big deal for entire Ghanaian reggae/dancehall community and Ghana at large? The Ashiaman champ, is undoubtedly breaking the rules.
The double phased album has broken the yoke of it’s shell consisting of 12 solid Afrobeats songs and 12 ear candy reggae/dancehall songs. The album was officially released on 12/12/2017 and also regarded as more focused. It’s just a month and some few days old but has bargained it’s spot at it’s own terms as the second best album in the world 2017. The motivation of this album was triggered by “good morals, teachings, lessons, anguish and the smiles of life. All the important things in life which are passed on to us by our mothers” – he said in an interview with Red Bull. Another key instrument about the album is, Stonebwoy dedicated it to the loving memory of his mother, Catherine Satekla who joined heavenly choir 3 years down the lane.
Kabaka Pyramid, Sean Paul, Vanessa Blinkx, Sarkodie, Burna Boy, Edem, Efya, Kelvyn Boy, King Promise we’re some of the featured acts on the album. It’s available on all digital store, ITunes, Spotify, Amazon, Aftown, etc. Chances getting a Grammy nomination is highly possible, it’s yet to do the real magic.
