“That is pure rubbish. Wrap it up and throw it in garbage. Stonebwoy never begged to be on Morgan Heritage Tour. It doesn’t even make sense”, was uite a swift response from Gramps Morgan when King Lagazee asked about the circulating rumours that Stonebwoy begged or ‘paid’ his way through to be on the Tour with the Grammy Winning-Group, Morgan Heritage.
“I came to Ghana in 2015 and had a concert at Reggie Rockstone’s place where some of the Ghanaian artistes also performed. I sat in the foyer and watched them perform and when Stonebwoy came on I was like…ah who dat? Who is this boy, Stonebwoy? From then I said this boy is going to be big. It all began from there. Then later I picked up the phone and called Stonebwoy to join us on tour and that was it. Reggae & Dancehall music is not only a Jamaican thing, it is a global thing now and we all need to embrace it. Stonebwoy is far gone, nobody can stop him”, Gramps Morgan elaborated more, on King Lagazee’s show on Hitz 103.9fm on Sunday, May 14, 2017.
Gramps Morgan aside looking at farming opportunities in Ghana and to network with Ghanaians (Artistes) more is also in town to promote their Group (Morgan Heritage’s) new album #Avrakedabra which officially launches on May 19, 2017. Makes it the 3rd time the Grammy Winner has stepped foot in Ghana.
In the last quarter of 2015, Morgan Heritage got Stonebwoy (after winning VGMA Artiste of the Year and BET 2015 Best African Act, respectively) joining their “Strictly Roots” (Europe) Album Tour — the album later won “Best Reggae Album” at the 58th Grammys.
Stonebwoy has since shot into international repute playing his own Concerts (Go Higher Tour) in USA and Australia with SOLD OUT venues in the booked locations.
With 4 powerful releases this year “Enku Lenu”, “One Thing” (ft. Damaris), “Migraine” and the cracker new jam “Come From Far”, Stonebwoy has won 2 more awards at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) 2017 edition (also makes it a 3rd time consecutively he’s copped “Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year” in the Ghana’s prestigious awards scheme). He’s been busy flying about playing shows in Africa and Europe this year in the 1st quarter with several booked international gigs in the next few weeks and months.
Stonebwoy is currently in the USA after shooting 5 videos in Jamaica last week – shot 2 for himself and 3 with Fay Ann-Lyons, Khalia and Mr. G, respectively.
“Reggae Night” (Remix) by Morgan Heritage for their upcoming #Avrakedabra album which features him drops this week May 19; the cracker song “California” by Mr. G which features him hits the screens with an official video soon.
