Award-winning South African gospel singer, Lundi Tyamara, has died at the age of 38.
His family, who made this known in a statement, revealed that the singer died in the early hours of Friday at Edenvale hospital, Johannesburg.
Tyamara passed on after a battle with abdominal Tuberculosis (TB) and a liver condition.
The singer, whose albums sold over 3.7 million copies, was known for hits like Mphefumlo Wami, Ndixolele, had been on admission in the hospital since December 2016.
South Africa’s president, Jacob Zuma, described Tyamara as “one of the best gospel artists that the country has ever produced”.
