Nigerian singer, Temitope Adekunle, aka Small Doctor, has insisted that social media is responsible for the rise of ‘yahoo yahoo’.
In an interview with vibe.ng magazine, he said Nigerian youths are always carried away by social media, which is why some venture into fraud.
He also spoke on Noble Igwe’s claim that most record labels are being funded by Yahoo boys.
He said;
“I feel the youths get carried away by what they see on social media, which is why they do all these things. About Noble Igwe’s claim, we’re not on the same page. His point of view is different from mine. The person who helped just decided to do so, and he’s not an internet fraudster.”
He continued; “About my advice to the government, if they can create more job opportunities, scholarships, I think so many people would not want to become internet fraudsters. Trust me, the youths are not lazy. They can spend the time they use while engaging in fraud for something more positive.”
He also talked about international acts he would like to work with and claims that he was a Fuji artiste.
He stated that he could do any genre of music but his kind of music right now is “Akeweje Pop.” He said the genre was his intellectual property and exclusive to him alone.
