So after a week-long touring of South Africa, it was time to leave! Although the tour had taken a toll on us since it was packed, it was sad to leave. Here are highlights from our last day in South Africa.

Today, the expressions on the guests’ faces were bitter sweet… Many were sad to leave but happy to return to their loved ones so it was a mixture of emotions.

Breakfast was not as full of chatter as it would usually be as it had started to dawn on many that this was the last night in South Africa, on this trip at least. Already, Juliet Ibrahim could be seen talking about coming back to South Africa for the Christmas festivities as many others also joined in to say the same.

Breakfast ended and it was time for the guests to do some last minute shopping.

Off the guests were to Sandton City, one of Africa’s most prestigious shopping centres to explore the world-class shopping experience. Luxury and elegance are synonymous with Sandton City, and if you take a walk through the centre, you’ll see why. From African arts and crafts to the latest runway fashion, Sandton City’s abundant selection of stores has a flair for distinction offering exclusive brands of the finest selection of clothing, accessories, food, entertainment, home décor, leisure, health and beauty.

The guests of course were quick to take hold of this blissful opportunity as they shopped up a storm!

Another significant event was the good bye South Africa… for now, dinner. Guests were treated to dinner at the Saxon Boutique Hotel highly prized for its mention in Nelson Mandela’s autobiography as the place he chose as his sanctuary in which to complete his award-winning book, the Long Walk to Freedom.

Besides the honorary mention, one can easily see why even the legend himself approves.

The Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa is a luxurious oasis on ten landscaped acres in Johannesburg’s neighborhood of Sandhurst, known for its quiet tree-lined avenues. At the heart of the City of Gold, beneath the warm sunshine in the opulent, tree-lined suburb of Sandhurst, lies the enchanting Saxon Hotel. Its proximity to Sandton makes it ideal for business travellers, but it is equally favored by those en route to safari destinations

Dinner was served and the guests went round thanking South African Tourism for the amazing opportunity provided them to experience the luxuries and diversity that South Africa had to offer. The thanks were in surplus with the guests vowing to return with their loved ones.

Alas! It was goodbye but for many, only the beginning.
