Papa Loggy confirmed on Daybreak Hitz with KMJ that his former artiste had not been well for some time now and had been in and out of hospital.
Born Abubakar Siddiq, many knew ace highlife singer, Daasebre Gyamenah as “Ahoofe”, a name his fans gave him after his hit song.
Daasebre was christened as Kojo Gyamenah and as a royal he later added “Daasebre” to distinguish himself from others with the same name.
Daasebre was preparing to release an album to underscore his love for God and also thank the Almighty for seeing him through the difficult times he faced in the London jail.
He was arrested for allegedly importing 100kg of cocaine into the UK. But throughout his trial, Daasebre maintained his innocence and pleaded “not guilty” to the charges against him. True to his plea, the 12-member jury hearing his case returned a no guilty verdict on Friday May 11, 2007.
