Rastafari brothers and sisters celebrated a night of performances and music to climax the weeklong 2nd Rastafari Continental Council Conference held at the Oyinka Hotel in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. Performers for the night included Kojo Kombolo, Konkarah, Jah Sweet, Kasi Black Survivor andJahson. Others were Faya Kindred, Judah Browny, Original Ras Korby, Inity from Barbados and Ras Mosiah from Guadeloupe.

In addition to the performances, there was a trade bazaar with products from African countries like Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Ethiopia and Barbados.

The 2nd RCC Conference which was under the theme “Rastafari and African Unity” was attended by over 120 participants from Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Ivory Coast and South Africa. Other participants were from Barbados, St. Vincent, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, U.S and Europe.

The conference adopted the constitution of the Council and elected a chairman, vice chairman, spokesperson and deputy spokesperson to lead the organization for the next five years. The elected officers are Ahuma Bosco Ocansey as chairperson; Thau Thau Haramanuba of South Africa as vice chairperson; Myke Pam of Nigeria as spokesperson and Marcia Stewart aka Queen Mother Moses who is based in the U.S as deputy spokesperson.

Also in attendance was the Ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to Ethiopia His Excellency Franklyn Frank I Francis who commended President Akufo-Addo for declaring this year as a Year of Return.

The conference was sponsored by the Black Star Line Cooperative Credit Union and the Rastafari Council, Ghana.
