What’s better than one billionaire? Two.
Diddy celebrated his fellow Hip-Hop Cash King JAY-Z during the latest episode of Apple Music’s OVO SOUND Radio, which aired on Saturday (July 22).
As a special guest on Drake’s Beats 1 program, Puff Daddy paid homage to Hov and his new album, 4:44, calling it Jigga’s best ever and music’s album of the year, while comparing it to the Holy Books, Bible and Quran.
“This JAY-Z album is JAY-Z’s best album,” he explained. “As an artist, you have a responsibility to grow. JAY-Z has inspired me, I inspire people, we all inspire each other. This album is not just an album. 4:44 is necessary. It’s not just an album. It’s a change of thinking. It’s a change in the way we think. We gotta support our own brand. We gotta support each other.”
The Bad Boy Records boss went on to add that folks, especially black males, should add 4:44 as required listening and he put the album on same level as religious books.
“If you don’t listen to it, you are doing yourself a disservice. You need that like you need the Bible and the Quran. I mean — if you have a problem with that — you gotta come see me. To me, Jay-Z’s 4:44 album is his best album and the album of the year,” the rap boss added.
While many people agree that 4:44 is the album of the year, they think the Diddy crossed a line by comparing the offering to religious books.

Sean Combs and Shawn Carter are two of music’s most business-savvy artists. In May, they were named No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, on the “Forbes Five.” To celebrate this, Diddy shared a photo of himself with JAY-Z. “We push each other,” he wrote. “We inspire each other… #BlackExcellence.”
