Before now, being plus sized was seen as being unhealthy or unattractive, in recent times the narrative has changed and plus sized women are being celebrated.

PlusSize Fashion Week Africa is set to host the first edition of its masterclass themed ‘Glow up and Flawless’. The masterclass is aimed at helping plus-sized women see beyond their body size and help them cultivate an attitude of positivity in every facet of life. During the masterclass there would be talks on different topics with seasoned panellists on board. The topics up for panel discussion are business/finance, mental wellbeing, plus-size modelling and many more.

The masterclass is set to take place at 1 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Main Banquet Hall, Oriental Hotel, Lagos.

The panellists who will be speaking at the masterclass are Bunmi Aboderin Talabi, Bukky Karibi-Whyte, Omilola Oshikoya, Glory Edozien, Gbemisola Adebayo, Dumebi Agbakoba, Feyi Luther, Chisom Ogbummuo, Titi Akinkugbe, Bukola Alba, Aderonke Eno Adefalujo, Temi George Taylor, Moremi Elekwachi, hosted by Yetty Ogunnubi and moderated by Temi Aboderin-Alao.

The Plussize Fashion Week Africa was birthed out of the need to stop the stigmatization and body shaming of the plus-sized woman; and the belief that every woman should be comfortable in her skin and body regardless of what the society thinks as long as they are healthy.

This year’s Plussize Fashion Week Africa is themed #BeautifullyMe and is all about self-awareness. The two-day event is set to hold on Saturday, November 3, 2018, and Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Main Banquet Hall, Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
