The Urban Festival was successfully launched at French Fingers located at East Legon on Monday 20/11/2017.

One would ask, what’s Urban Festival? Well, Urban Festival is a substantial initiative mapped out by Chali Muzik and Idea123 with support from National Commission On Culture & Bad Man Family to educate, develop, promote, support and create a platform for the youths (underground artistes) with musical potentials, especially those in the tertiary levels. It’s important to note that, it is not only targeted at tertiary students, every youth is involved but the real deal is, the tertiary students are more organized. That’s how come the master minds behind the initiative decided to utilize such opportunity first and foremost.

Dignitaries like Socrates Sarfo (commissioner of National Commission Of Culture), Mr. Kwesi Amoako (director of operations at Chali Muzik, Mr. Abdul Abass (CEO of Idea123gh), Tinny, Epixode and other were present to make the launch more colourful. The media were also present as usual. Each dignitary added their voice to encourage the youths to associate theirselves with this uplifting initiative just so they will have comprehensive knowledge about hidden secrets to unlock their potentials and learn the business side of the art. Socrates painted an interesting picture about his unconditional love and passion for the creative industry during his speech. Interesting part of the launch was, Mr. Socrates Sarfo ceased the opportunity to canvass on behalf of 3 youths out of the many who were present to get an opportunity to have a song collaboration with TINNY to fountain them out.

All things been equal, Urban Festival will kick start it’s maiden event on 3/3/2018 at the National Theatre. Before the main event, there will be a workshop for participating acts, an exhibition followed up with the main event. To draw down the curtains, Urban Festival is here to stay and give hope to the hopeless in the creative industry. They are also striving to get more sponsors, investment from cooperate bodies and veteran artistes to join the change and the trend because their automatically part of the family.
