Group CEO of Ghana’s popular gold hub MenzGold and fast-growing entertainment outfit Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah led a delegation of some executives and staff of both outfits to honour an invitation by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to grace this month’s Akwasidae last Sunday April 8, 2018 at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
Among the delegation were most of the Zylofon Media signees namely gospel diva Joyce Blessing, burgeoning hiplife star Obibini, current highlife kingpin Kumi Guitar, popular dancehall acts Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, and top afro-pop diva Becca.
Popular actor Too Sweet Annan, actress B.B Bright and Zylofon fashion icon Sima Brew were also some of the notable names among the delegation to Kumasi.
The eventful trip saw the delegation being flown to Kumasi in trenches aboard a chartered air force flight.
The first batch included some executive directors namely Mr. Elisha Owusu, Mr. Offei and some staff of MenzGold, together with Joyce Blessing, Kumi Guitar, Obibini, Too Sweet Annan and Sima Brew left Burma Camp at 9:20 am and touched down at 9:57am.
The second batch had Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Becca together with some staff and management members of the artistes on board the flight.
The CEO Nana Appiah Mensah flew to Kumasi on his private jet. On board his jet were Mrs. Rose Appiah Mensah, wife of the CEO who is also a business person. His father and mother together with his sister Abigail Mensah(Mrs) and, some business partners of the CEO were also on board the private jet.
At the end of the Akwasidae celebrations, Nana Appiah Mensah again led each of the acts for a formal and personal introduction to Otumfuo where they had closed door meetings.
The delegation also returned in trenches with Shatta Wale being on the first trench, as he surprised everyone posing as the flight announcer. Stonebwoy and some of the other acts were part of the second batch.
Nana Appiah Mensah and his entourage presented a good number of items and a substantial amount of money to Otumfuo, and information from the grapevine indicates that the kind gesture is a prelude to the many sumptuous plans Zylofon Media have in the pipeline for subsequent Akwasidae celebrations and some cultural activities in the Ashanti region.
