The Hard Rock Cafe memorabilia collection includes music memorabilia including autographed guitars, costumes from world tours and rare photographs and the likes which are usually mounted on cafe walls.
King Sunny Ade’s guitar would join different legendary music artifacts like John Lennon’s wireframe tinted glasses, Jim Morrison’s famous brown leather pants, Madonna’s wedding dress from “Like a Virgin”, a guitar from rock band ‘Aerosmith’, B.B King’s guitar, Will.I.Am’s hat e.t.c.
This guitar is a vintage fender guitar which the King Sunny Ade fondly refers to as his “baby” as he purchased it from the genius of highlife, Sir Victor Olaiya and has played with it for over 30 years. It’s also the same guitar he used while composing his hit track “synchro system” which earned him his first Grammy nomination.
The induction was attended by celebrities as well as friends who came to show their appreciation to the veteran musician.
