Peter Okoye of P-Square has joined the various celebs speaking out against domestic violence.
Taking to his Instagram yesterday, the musician challenged men who physically abuse women to first try beating either himself or pro boxers Floyd Mayweather and Anthony Joshua, if they want to prove that they are ‘real men.’
But Seriously Some MEN Can Fall Hand. Next Time If U Want To Beat Or Hit A Woman. Pls Try Beating Me @Peterpsquare @Anthony_joshua Or @Floydmayweather Then You Will Be Called A Reeeeeeeeaal MAN! Baboons!
Peter’s challenge comes at a time where several celebrity marriages have crashed as a result of domestic violence.
Currently dominating headlines is actress Mercy Aigbe’s marital crisis. The mother of two had apparently been suffering in silence as her husband Lanre Gentry beat her for years. She only spoke up recently after he reportedly fractured her skull during an altercation.
In March, another Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh shared shocking details of how she was a victim of domestic violence after her marriage to Churchill Olakunle fell apart. Both actresses claimed they didn’t initially speak up and endured the abuse because they ‘didn’t want to give up on their marriage’ and they hoped their husbands will change.
