Imagine a full day of international quality music, food, art and festive experiences, in the chill mountain air of the Akuapim Range; all set to the background of the pulsating drum and bass of reggae and dancehall in a series of live concerts.
This is Reggae on the Mountains an annual festival celebrating the rich cultural heritage of reggae music and its affiliated genres and the visual and performing arts of talented individuals and groups.
The maiden edition is set to coincide with the Odwira Festival in Akropong on 7th October 2017. The maiden edition will feature artists who have honed their skills on the shores of mother Ghana and who are resident in Ghana, eventually the event will feature artists from several parts of Africa to promote continental/cross cultural collaborations.
Ghana as a nation can boast of many international accolades in music however in the last decade the only genre that has won awards, breached boarders, and brought repute to our nation is reggae/dancehall.
This is a billion dollar industry waiting to be tapped into, with a well of undiscovered talent ready to be unearthed.
