Nigerian singer, Olamide, and his former label mate, Lil Kesh, recently offended a number of fans after their new track, Logo Benz, was released. It is widely believed that the song promotes blood money and several people took to social media to share their grievances.
The YBNL boss has finally taken to his Twitter page to react to the poor reviews. He reposted a tweet by one of his followers which claims that when he does a good song, it goes unnoticed but now that he has sang something controversial, people are complaining.
The tweet reads: “When @olamide_YBNL does amazing songs like “Shine” that talks about record label executives ripping artistes of it will not trend oo, when it is Logo Benz everybody turn werey for twitter.”
He further explained that the song creates awareness on the things that are prevalent in our society.
“Logo Benz is for the 3rd party to have a glimpse into the current state of youths in our society. (Runs girls x runs boys) I’m not sure if there’s anything like 2 much awareness, but pardon me if there is. It’s all over the news, it’s always been in movies, don’t box musicians.”
Lil Kesh also reacted to the song’s review.
“If money no enter I go do blood money o, talk your own. We no dey promote wetin no dey exist na awareness we dey do so spread your pata at owner’s risk because won ka pata o”
