Hiplife musician, Okyeame Kwame believes he is at a stage in his musical career where he is building a legacy in an effort to project Ghana music globally. According to him, a musical career spanning close to two decades will be worth celebrating by leaving a footprint in music across the continent of Africa and beyond.

In an interview with Jessica Opare –Saforo on Beta Malt “On the Go” (taxi edition), he said, “What am building is a legacy- I have been a musician for almost 20 years. I think my music should be heard in Bostwana, Kenya…that is what drives me”, he said.

When jokingly asked the last time he took a taxi, Okyeme Kwame responded, “I don’t usually take a taxi. It has been a while, I think about some 7 years ago. My car got spoilt; I took a taxi to find a mechanic to fix it …that is the last time I think I took a taxi…”

Okyeame Kwame together with Okyeame Quophi formed the music group “Akyeame ” which took hiplife music by storm following some collaboration in the 90’s until the duo decided to go their separate ways following their return from the United States to seek greener pastures.
