The members of the JAMB are discussing the opening of Central Admission Processing System, which is aimed to guarantee the quality control, clarity, and credibility of the whole admission process.
The new admission rules will make provision for a ‘market place’ in the JAMB official website where institutions can ask for Nigerian students who score their cut off points. These educational institutions should write to JAMB to ask for students. In their turn, students are given three days to answer the request from the university. Moreover, only three universities can ask for an applicant if new rules are adopted.
According to new admission rules, Nigerian universities are allowed pegging their cut off point after meeting with their academic boards.
NAIJ Nigeria found out that the senate of a particular institution will also receive power to “allocate percentages to JAMB, the school and O’level results as these will be calculated to get the students’ cut off marks for post-UTME.”
The new JAMB admission website will be based on the quota system, cut off points, and catchment areas. According to the new policy only those applicants, who meet universities cut off points, will be admitted. If a claimant does not meet the cut off mark, he/she will never be admitted/
