The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is collaborating with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to combat the scourge of drug abuse that is plaguing the nation. As part of the collaboration, MUSIGA has produced a song and is finalizing a video on the harmful effects of drug abuse.

The song features some of the top singers of the day including Kuami Eugene and a host of singers. Apart from the song and video, a mega concert is also being planned to drive the fight against drug abuse.

According to MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour, “The campaign will be launched with a mega concert which will feature some of the artistes on the All Star song and video along with others who support the project but couldn’t feature on the song.”

The campaign is to fight against the rising scourge of drug abuse with the recent increase in Tramadol abuse which has plaguing against the youth in the country.

According to the FDA boss, Mrs Delese Mimi Darko, “The decision to collaborate with MUSIGA on this campaign against drug abuse in the country stems from the fact that our music stars have massive followings which they can impact positively to combat drug abuse.”

The Union recently produced an All-Star anti-corruption song and video as part of STAR-Ghana’s anti-corruption campaign.
