All is set for this year’s MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball which takes place on April 7 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) under the patronage of His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball is an annual event organized by MUSIGA which brings together captains of industry and other leaders to raise funds for the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF) to support ageing and incapacitated musicians.
This year’s event is happening during the birth week of President Akufo-Addo and hence the Music industry is using the opportunity to celebrate his Platinum Jubilee anniversary as part of the activities for the night.
Performers lined up for the event include the Showman of Africa, Bob Pinodo; the evergreen Naa Amanua of Wulomei fame and the Golden Voice of Africa, Pat Thomas. Other performers on the night include the indefatigable Daddy Lumba, effervescent Tic Tac and award winning star Samini among others.
The night will also be used to pay tribute to the late Nii Tei Ashitey, founder of Wulomei and the greatest African band of all time, Osibisa who will be celebrating their golden jubilee.
According to MUSIGA President, “The night will be a special one of entertainment and finesse. As the last major event under my leadership and His Excellency’s birthday party, we are determined to make it one of the best entertainment events of the year.”
The MUSIGA Presidential Grand Ball is under the direction of a 13-member board led by Hassan Tampuli, CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and organized by Kafina Events for MUSIGA.
