The Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall in London came alive on Saturday night, 24th September 2016, when sixteen beautiful ladies participated in the grand finale of the popular 2016 Miss Ghana UK beauty pageant.
At the end of the almost three-hour production, the beautiful and intelligent nineteen-year-old Ms. Rachel Ama Djan was crowned with the ultimate title on the night – the Miss Ghana UK 2016 Queen.
Ms. Djan, a resident of Coventry is a student of the De Montford University and also takes a course in Educational Studies. She is a member of the theatre company, Black Youth Theatre and has performed on several stages.
The first and second runners up were twenty-four-year-old Ms. Daisy Qwoffie and twenty-five-year-old Ms. Andrea Archer respectively. East London based Ms. Qwoffie is a Hair and Makeup Artist whilst Ms. Archer is a caseworker for Looked After Children.
The massively patronized event which experienced the usual glitz and glamour with attendees showing up with their “A game fashion” was hosted by Kweku Owusu – Frimpong, Simply Andy and Edma Ohema Lawar
Sponsors of Miss Ghana UK 2016 were Blue Rose Real Estate, Paypaddy, Aba N Thursday, 101 Clothing, Make Up by Renee, ECLAT, Hair2thethrone, Prompt Communications and VIP Chauffeur. Official media partners were ABN Radio and ABN Television.
We say congratulations to Ms. Djan who now becomes the ambassador for Miss Ghana UK Foundation with the task to plan and executive social intervention programmes in Ghana as well as across the United Kingdom!
