Met Gala, fashion’s biggest night out, has just dropped its 2025 dress code, and it’s all about suiting up!
This year’s theme, “Tailored for You,” according to the Met gala organizers, invites guests to showcase their unique takes on suits and menswear-inspired looks and our very own Chimamanda Adichie has been announced as a part of the star-studded committee.
This year’s theme is a nod to the upcoming exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which celebrates the rich history of Black fashion and dandyism.
For the first time in over two decades, the Met Gala is shining the spotlight solely on menswear, with a special focus on Black style through the ages.
The exhibit, inspired by Monica L. Miller’s book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity,” will explore how Black individuals have used fashion to express themselves and challenge norms from the 18th century to today.
Adding to the excitement, a star-studded host committee has been announced, featuring talents like Simone Biles, Spike Lee, Janelle Monáe, and of course, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
These stars will join previously announced hosts Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, and LeBron James to make this year’s event truly unforgettable.
This announcement definitely has everyone marking their calendars for May 5th, when the Met Gala will dazzle us once again.
