She has then also released a new single “Ogya” as the song basically talks about Africa, the culture, the art, the people, and their energy.

Ogya is a song that holds a chant of the people and how they never give up.

BRIEF PROFILE

Adasi Edith Ayarkwa known as Araya Afrika in the music industry was Born on the 26th of August.

Araya hails from Adarko Jachie in the Ashanti Region but was raised in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo.

She had her Secondary education at Kumasi Girls Senior High School where she did general arts and was a dancer.

She then furthered to Sunyani Polytechnic for a short course where she was a member of the tertiary mass choir and a dance director for the Sunyani Polytechnic and also for a non-denominational Christian group.

She later had a top up at Institute Of Distance Learning (KNUST). In 2014, Araya was introduced to music but officially started in 2016.

With time, she built up herself for commercial modeling and begun runway modeling as well.

She has worked with various sound engineers like Apya Studio, Mr herry, Sergio, TubhaniMuzik, all in Kumasi, Rayne Studios in Sunyani and Is currently an independent artiste.

She also has done a few collaborations with the likes of Chief Kelz, Mr. Muffin, Fali Finest, Blurricane, and others.

She did covers for popular songs like Somewaybi by Manifest, Hello by Adele, a mashup of Mr Eazi and Sarkodie’s songs plus a cover of Runtown’s Mad over you, the legendary Bob Marleys Turn your lights down low and others.

Aside from that, she has worked on other original songs as well.

Her particular genres include Soul music Afro-pop, Highlife, RnB.

Her passion is art; as part of the things she is doing, she has picked up on her contemporary dance and is upgrading in ballet the African way, a style she calls the AfroBallet.

Araya is known with the brand AFRIKANESSE and is currently signed to SwagCity Entertainment, an Independent Label

Araya takes inspiration from Anything with the Afro vibes which are how she discovered her African Sound.
