Last year, Britain’s most popular music reality TV show, X-Factor received major following even in Ghana as Ghanaians rallied behind Reggie Zippy and Bollie (Reggie N Bollie), who eventual won second place in the competition.  This year, another Ghanaian, Gifty Louise has made it to the ‘Live Shows’, and already she’s making some buzz of her own.

Unlike Reggie Zippy and Bollie, who each had a successful music careers in Ghana before relocating to the UK, Gifty Loiuse Agyeman is unknown back home.  Gifty Louise is an events manager who moved to London from Ghana at the age of 10. The same year, she lost her mother in a car crash.

Gifty, who made the top 3 list this year as part of Simon Cowell’s team of girls, is no stranger X-Factor. In  2015 she lost her voice at Bootcamp and made an early exit.

Gifty’s place in the live shows is a no brainer after consistent performances all the way through the series. But so far she has been making the news with more than just her voice.  In an interview in The Sun, she revealed that she had been cautioned for kicking a policeman when she was 13 after he tried to stop and search her. “I got arrested once for hitting a police officer,” she said.

“It was quite funny. I felt that because I was a female, a female officer should search me. And I felt like he was touching me inappropriately so I kicked him in the balls.”

The case apparently did not go to court and her criminal record was wiped two years later.
