Samuel Adu Frimpong, for the most part known as Medikal is lacing up to launch his campaign against “Don’t Do Drugs” at Golden Tulip on 5/6/2018. Following the ongoing drug abuse fantasy among the youth of today, the “gimme vibe” crooner has taking it upon himself to convey a very concise rationale in senior high schools and tertiary institutions nationwide to campaign and educate the future leaders of Ghana (youth) about the dangers involved in abusing drugs.
The drive or motive behind the campaign is, he lost a close friend to drugs. Hence the campaign is very dear to his heart. Had it been that he had set sail on the drug abuse campaign earlier, probably his friends wouldn’t have met his untimely death. As an awaken call for him by virtue of his fellow youth constantly abusing not legally permitted drugs all in the name of fairyland exploration leading to numerous health disorder.
According to him, he is saddened by the fact that the current generation of youth who are vigorous and potential future leaders cannot see the beauty of life by setting high standard of living as well as focusing on building a better career by means of becoming responsible people in life they are rather destroying their lives in the pool of making drug abuse the new order of the day.
With his endless growing influence each day on the youth, chiefly his fans, and support from colleague musicians and other stakeholders, he strongly believes adding his (their) voice to the drug abuse campaign which has actually become a national issue can help iron out the canker in society.
