In case you over stretched your thoughts in reading varied meanings in engaging with Medikal’s tweet – “4 years ago I saved Ghanaian Rap music from dying and I promise to keep it alive”. Don’t bother your heads over it because the rapper has made stories to explain away the tweet. According to him, it was honestly a very friendly harmless tweet with no intention of disrespecting any other rapper.

He told Sammy Flex in an exclusive interview on Zylofon 102.1 FM on Thursday morning 13/6/2019 he’s not trying to brag or be arrogant because there are other great rappers out there with the same talent. Furthermore, the fact is 4 years ago afrobeats, azonto and other music genres flooded the system until he came in to drop back to back hit rap / hip pop songs consistently like “confirm, God bless you, by heart boy, etc”.

He expanded further on, stating he reprogrammed the existing agenda because it was a new era to secure a spot for himself as the rapper he’s today. In addition to what has already be said, he noted he was not going to reign forever, surely another generation will take over. The only problem people have with him is, he loves to free his mind. Also he appreciates it more when people know what he’s thinking a lie behind his numerous tweets. He entreated people to appreciate his work and stop criticising him for no tangible reason.

He also debunked remorse associated with the fact that, because he emerged as the best rapper of the year at the just ended VGMAs, he has grown rubber horns. He established that, ever since he started dropping hit songs in this industry, he has always freed his mind. “Even without awards, i was still freeing my mind. Awards can never make one feel on top of the world. My harmless tweet shouldn’t affect anyone” he added.
