Actress, Martha Ankomah launched her Martha Ankomah Foundation last Tuesday at the African Regent Hotel in Accra. The well attended event saw traditional rulers, members of the Foundation’s advisory board, representatives from corporate institutions, celebrities and the media in attendance.
The visibly excited Martha used the opportunity to throw more light on the objectives of her foundation.
“Martha Ankomah Foundation is a social organisation registered three years ago, the objectives of this foundation are child care support programmes, health awareness projects, community development projects, livelihood empowerment and fundraising programmes,” she said.
“Over the past few years, Martha Ankomah Foundation in collaboration with Autism Ambassadors have been creating awareness for children living with autism. This year, we have decided to embark on our new project, the Martha Ankomah Foundation’s Quality Education Project.
“The singular aim of this project is to provide children living in deprived communities with learning materials and resources which will enhance their aptitude in education,” she added.
In line with this new project, a documentary was shown on some of the places Martha and her team, with support from Stallion Group of Companies have been to make donations to some of these deprived communities much to the delight of the community leaders.
Martha also used the opportunity to present citations to some of her sponsors like Stallion Group of Companies, African Regent Hotel and Mediasam.
There was fundraising and guests contributed to the Martha Ankomah Foundation. Some of the celebrities who passed through were Ecow Smith-Asante, Abeiku Acquah, Gloria Osei Sarfo, Vincent Macauley, Abeiku Sagoe and Mercy Little Smith.
