Blackface is back on social media, this time he has accused many Nigerian acts of plagiarism. He also has some words for his former colleague Faze, who he accuses of meddling in his feud with 2baba Idibia.
Speaking with HipTV yesterday, the former Plantashun Boiz singer, who has been in a drawn-out feud with 2baba Idibia over alleged theft of song, said many Nigerian top acts would be in prison if there were penalties for plagiarism.
He said:
“It Depends On The Penalty The Government Wants To Put For Song Theft…May Be If You Have To Do Some Years In Prison [For Stealing A Song], A Lot Of People Will Be In Prison Right Now. Many Of The Big Artistes You Know Will Be In Prison.
[It’s] Either They Take Some Songs From Here Or They Take Some Songs From Abroad And They Mix It Together, And That’s Really Bad For Culture.
Anything The Government Decides, But The Court Is There. The Penalties To Pay. There Are Fines To Pay…And Things To Do If You Did Something Wrong.”
Asked what he thinks of Faze’s plea for peaceful resolution with 2baba Idibia, he said:
“Faze Is My Friend, Hes Going To Do His Own Bit. But There Is One Thing You Know: They Say Who Feels It Knows It. He Didn’t Write The Song, I Did. So, He Doesn’t Know What He Is Talking About. He Is Just Going To [Try To Make Peace], But Then, The Offender Needs To Say ‘I’m Wrong. I Am Sorry. I’m Wrong.’ But I Can’t Do Nothing About That. I Didn’t Do Nothing To Nobody. I Didn’t Take Nobody’s Song.”
It is unclear if Blackface carried on with his threats to sue 2baba Idibia for alleged song theft. However, one thing is clear: he is not keeping quiet anytime soon. Meanwhile, 2baba continues to ignore him.
