Think about it, at this point, we need to count our blessings to have superstar Simi showering us with her sonorous voice and good music in this generation because it is an undeniable fact that she is good at what she does.

When talking about the album, a friend of mine states that when Simi is involved, it always ends up being beautiful. Another friend, however, comes with her reservations. According to her, “Borrow Me Your Baby,” a single by Simi featuring Falz, was a little off and might actually turn her off from listening to the album. While I hold no grudges, I believe that for every album and artist, there is a fan for them, and not everyone will be a fan.

So, in the spirit of listening to Simi’s album, let’s talk about my five stand-out tracks on the album. Good or bad, you’ll get to find out as you read on.

Simi - Lost and found

Lost and Found

Titled after the album and my personal fave, this particular track is an emotional journey. It tells of strength, courage, losing and finding oneself, getting served hot breakfast, and then experiencing awe-inspiring love.

In all we do, there is a need to count our blessings one by one and learn our lessons because getting lost doesn’t mean you won’t be found.

Know You II

For those thinking “Should I go back to him or not?” or “Should I shoot my shot or not,? this song is for you. Hit up your crush or ex with this track, and who knows—they might just be feeling the same way.

Featuring the talented LADIPOE, “Know You II” brings a perfect blend of introspection and rhythm, making it a standout on Simi’s album.

Alafia

Featuring Bella Shmurda, this track showcases a different side of Simi, likely influenced by Bella’s unique style.

The highlight of this song is definitely the lyrics, especially the chorus: “We dey flow bi osa se n flow.” When my Yoruba friend translated it to “We flow like the river flows,” it hit differently. All I can say is that, if this line doesn’t make your partner wet, I don’t know what will.

Borrow Me Your Baby

I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it either. Compared to Simi and Falz’s previous collaborations that had us vibing on repeat, this one feels a bit subpar.

You could say it fell short of expectations, but it’s still a favorite because of the nostalgia of having Simi and Falz back on a track together after a long while.

Men Are Crazy

A controversial song title and a feature with Tiwa Savage herself caused uproar on social media and beyond, but it still doesn’t hold much water and is definitely not stream-worthy.

To me, it’s a song to listen to once and then move on. No hard feelings, but I think I will agree with my friend that while Simi has so much potential and knows this music business, she definitely needs to step up her game.

She can’t keep churning out the same sound since “Jamb Question.” There is a need to evolve with the times. But I guess her fans love her music just the way it is, so I’ll drop my mic here and rest my case.

PS: This is an extra because I feel a little extra.

It’s the beat for me on this one. Track 8 on the album, produced by LOUDDAA, comes packed with an upbeat sound that has a nice ring to it. That’s all about this song from this end.
