Born Matthew Amatey Williams Jr, Okay was born and raised in Accra Newtown , obtaining his basic education certificate at Rainbow School , Accra . His love for music was very evident at a very young stage where he was involved in a lot of rap battles with his peers . It was at this level that he truly carved his craft in putting words together to rhyme on beats . After his basic education , he enrolled to DMM Training Center , a music school that teaches how to produce beats . He completed DMM in 2010 and naturally started producing his own beats . After some few months as a producer , he featured on a mixtape which ultimately changed his direction in the music industry from being just a producer to being a proper rap artist .
He dropped his first single, ‘Okukuseku’ in 2011 which made an instant entry into YFM?s ?Push or Flash ?( A medium to promote young and upcoming artists ). He has since released two more singles namely ?TGIF? and ?Just Dance? . ?Just Dance?, which featured Mentor winner and Project Fame West Africa runner-up , Kesse, was released in October 2012 and was widely received by fans.
